A new initiative started in 2018, outdoor club is an after school activity focused on building up young people in skills outside of the academic framework. Over the course of a term, the young people build up their outdoor skills in activities such as building rope bridges and making food on fires, all with the purpose of empowering them in their abilities.
Christian Unions/Lunch Club
Each week we run 2 Christian Unions or lunch clubs in both of the secondary schools. One is a light introduction to faith, whereas the second group of the week allows more time for those who want to explore faith further. Both groups feature food and games, as well as providing a space for them to hang out and form friendships.
We are available during all 3 terms to help out with occasional RE lessons as and when it will be beneficial to the syllabus. In the past we have helped out with GCSE revision sessions, led lessons on forgiveness and even just answered questions on various topics from a Christian perspective.
Prayer spaces are the highlight of a lot of students year. We provide a space for students to come and reflect and pray, using interactive and engaging stations. Over the course of an hour, students will travel around each of the stations and be given to opportunity to reflect on their own lives, the lives of their friends and family and even to reflect about things going on throughout the world.
We are still available to help out with assemblies during secondary school. We can focus on subjects such as how to handle exam stress, self image, relationships as well as different current events.
One Off Events
In the past, FACCTS have been involved in the preparation and organisation of various events throughout the school calendar.
From being involved in Fair-trade Days, to whole week events for the whole school. If you would like to explore the options of what we could offer, please do get in contact. We would love to talk through different possibilities.
